When you arrive in South Africa for the 2010 World Cup Football you simply have visit Kalk Bay about 30 minutes drive from the centre of Cape Town. Here you will find a bustling harbour with stunning views across False Bay. Situated on the Indian Ocean side of the Cape Peninsula, Kalk Bay offers the best Fish and Chips in South Africa! Drive down to the harbour and you will be spoilt for choice for the freshest fish and chips imaginable! There are various eateries there and you can choose to sit down or have a take away. A: Aus-tra-lia is that big island in the middle of the pacific. A-fri-ca is the big triangle shaped continent south of Europe which does not…oh forget it. Sure, the Koala Bear racing is every Tuesday night in Hillbrow. Come naked.

Q: Which direction is north in South Africa ? ( USA )

A: Face south and then turn 90 degrees. Contact us when you get here and we’ll send the rest of the directions.

A: Why? Just use your fingers like we do.

A: No, we are a peaceful civilisation of vegan hunter-gatherers. Milk is illegal.

A: Rattlesnakes live in A-meri-ca, which is where YOU come from. All South African snakes are perfectly harmless, can be safely handled and make good pets.

Q: I was in South Africa in 1969, and I want to contact the girl I dated while I was staying in Hillbrow. Can you help? ( USA )

A: Yes, but you will probably still have to pay her by the hour.

Q: Will I be able to speek English most places I go? ( USA )

A: Yes, but you’ll have to learn it first.

2010 SOCCER BALL FOOTBALL ADVERTISING PHENOMENA - CHECK THIS OUT!!

An Awesome advertising phenomena, something very exciting and different for the 2010 World Cup Football here in South Africa.  A huge 3 metre football which can be either a fixed land based unit or a water based taxi ferrying your clients around the waterfront area. You can have your companies logo branded on all of the outside panels plus the functionally of being able to sell your product on the inside.  The footballs are incredibly stable being of a polyester steel construction and come complete with Interior lights, fittings and acrylic window panels. They can be fully customised to your companies specific requests. Currently there are two flat screen TV's inside where your company can show infomercials or anything you feel is applicable. The land based units can have a central bar from where you can sell your products, perfect for selling airtime, alcoholic beverages, coffee, burgers, you name it! The water based unit will have a minibar and table from where the skipper can serve drinks whilst in transit. Inside there is fixed seating for up to 8 people. 5 COOL THINGS TO DO IN CAPE TOWN DURING 2010 WORLD CUP!

2010 FIFA World Cup is now only months away with kickoff in June 2010! Live from Cape Town here are my daily reports.
5 Cool things to do in Cape Town during the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
1. Table Mountain - take the cablecar up Table Mountain for amazing views across the Mother City and beyond to Table Bay. Truly an amazing site. Also a very trendy spot to have lunch with the superb views as your backdrop.
2. Visit the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront in Cape Town for an astonishing array of shops, restuarants, hotels, live entertainment, ferries to Robben Island (Nelson Mandela was Imprisioned there), Art Galleries, Ocean Aquarium to name a few, you name it the Waterfront has it all! You could happily spend days walking around here and never get bored.
3. Long Street in the centre of Cape Town is well worth seeking out for its groovy selection of shops, eateries, pubs, night clubs, pool halls, swimming baths, superb architecture and electric at night! The place to see and to be seen :-)
4. Seapoint with its huge range of restuarants and one of the best walking or running promenades in the world, this really is the place to eat the finest food and afterwards enjoy a relaxing walk along the seafront with the Atlantic Ocean right there to enjoy!
5. Just further along from Sea Point is Camps Bay Beach with its Palm Trees and pure white sand this truly has to be one of the most spectacular beaches on the planet. With Table Mountain and the Twelve Apostles as your backdrop you can sun yourself and afterwards have sun downers in any one of many very cool and vibey eateries.

2010 WORLD CUP GRANDSTAND STADIUM VENUES

With now only 138 days until kick off I expect some of your are curious to know where the great games of football are going to played? The 4 key stadiums will be Nelson Mandela Bay StadiumGreen Point Stadium,  Soccer City and Moses Mabhida Stadium. Lets start with Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium. Situated in Port Elizabeth along the Eastern Seaboard of South Africa, this 48 500 seater stadium has an eye catching roof structure which is sure to draw attention. With a natural grass playing surface this stadium with its spectacular architecture will be something for all to admire! Next up is Cape Towns awesome Green Point Stadium with a capacity of nearly 70 000 and its sweeping silhouette this stadium is an amazing site. Having watched the building of this stadium first hand I can report that it blends in beautifully with its surrounds. Soccer City in Johannesburg is the crown prince of stadiums and will host the opening game and celebrations. The stadiums design is built around the idea of an African calabash and its appeal is heightened when lit up at night! The stadium has a capacity of 95 000 seats - this is the home of South African football!
The Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban is quite magnificent like a collosal UFO mother ship. With a high tech cable car running across the top, designed to take visitors to the highest point of the stadium. There they can enjoy breath taking views of the city and surrounds! Designed to seat 70 000 people is a world class multi-functional stadium. This concludes our quick tour of 4 of the new grandstand stadiums to host the games of the FIFA 2010 Football World Cup! THINGS TO DO IN CAPE TOWN DURING THE FIFA WORLD CUP 2010

Cape Town has been described as one of the seven wonders of the world and "the fairest Cape I did ever see" by Sir Walter Raleigh! Its a fantastic city with a rich diversity of culture, people, places to visit and things to do. From taking the cable car to the top of Table Mountain, to the beaches along the Atlantic shoreline and the shopping buzz of the vast Waterfront area, everthing is within immediate reach! If you are feeling more adventurous then the Cape Winelands and the Cape Point Nature Reserve are but a drive away. Cape Townians are Internationally reknowned for their hospitality and good humour.Anyone visiting the "Mother city" will be sure to experience this first hand. The World Cup is now only months away and already the city is a buzz with expectation of this amazing sporting event. Over the next few weeks I will discussing more about what to do in Cape Town during the football world cup with details of where to hang out, which beaches to visit and how to have one of the most memorable holidays of a life time! FIFA WORLD CUP 140 DAYS UNTIL KICK-OFF!!

Live from Cape Town this is the first of many blog entrys associated with the 2010 FIFA Football World Cup to be hosted here in South Africa. With only 140 days now until kick off the country is in full swing in its preperations for this awesome sporting event! We have already had the draw in December 2009 here in Cape Town at the Conference Centre and this has determined the fate of which country plays who in the group play offs. South Africa is in Group A alongside France, Mexico and Uruguay - some tough competition! The opening game will be at 16:00 on 11 June 2010. The host nation South Africa will play Mexico at the crown prince of stadiums - Soccer City, Johanessburg. A thrilling opening game I'm sure!
